Visit Yamaha at Stand 7314, Hall 7, Motek 2023, October 10-13, to see new robots and automation solutions in action

Yamaha Robotics Factory Automation section will exhibit the battery end-of-line solution developed with system integrator JP Industrieanlagen alongside its advanced new 7-axis cobot at Motek 2023 in Stuttgart. Visitors can also see Yamaha’s LCMR200 flexible transport modules in action, highlighting space-saving assembly automation with easy maintenance and traceability.

The EV-battery end-of-line solution will show lifting, moving and positioning 35kg battery modules for automated electrical testing and assembly. The demonstration highlights the 7.5m/s speed and 0.05mm positioning accuracy of Yamaha’s YK1200X SCARA robot, which has 50kg payload capability and 1.2m arm length. The YK1200X positions each module in the test fixture, ensuring precise alignment with electrical connections. It then retrieves the tested modules using its long reach to install passed units directly in the battery pack and move others to a separate area. “As growing EV markets drive up demand for high-capacity, high-performance batteries, this solution developed with our integration partner shows how manufacturers can raise production output, lower costs, and increase productivity,” commented Jumpei Ninomiya, Sales Manager for Yamaha’s FA business in Europe.

The new cobot, with seven axes for enhanced dexterity, will demonstrate Yamaha’s advanced human sense technology with force-sensing functionality. Its superior sensitivity enhances both human safety and performance by enabling accurate movement and positioning without needing to rely on machine vision.

The LCMR200 demonstration will highlight integrated track and trace, with continuous awareness of all slider positions to facilitate equipment maintenance, process control, and traceability. With the vertical circulation unit, the demonstration will show high-speed transport on two levels for space savings in addition to the agility that comes with the modules’ electronically programmable speed, acceleration, and stop positions.

Jumpei Ninomiya added, “Our demonstrations show how Yamaha’s industrial robots fit perfectly into modern smart manufacturing, bringing extra speed, efficiency, and flexibility to assembly and packaging activities throughout the factory.”

Yamaha Robotics is at Stand 314, Hall 7, Motek 2023, at the Trade Fair Centre Stuttgart, October 10-13.

The EV battery end-of-line demonstration featuring Yamaha’s YK1200X SCARA places 35kg modules at high speed and sub-mm accuracy.
